State Qualifiers: Jami Ostberg, Jabe Wurtz, Tyler Martin, Kyler Van Housen, Logan Fleming

STORM QUALIFY FIVE FOR STATE

The High Plains Track & Field teams had a successful day at the D-4 District meet at Cross County.  Five athletes punched their ticket to the state meet, taking place in Omaha at Burke Stadium May 17 & 18.   The lone competitor for the girls is Junior Jami Ostberg who qualified in the Discus with a throw of 101 feet even.  The High Plains boys qualified four in three events.  The first was the 3200 meter Relay team of Freshman Kyler Van Housen, Sophmore Jabe Wurtz, Junior Logan Fleming and Junior Tyler Martin , qualifying with a time of 8:51.4.  Martin and Fleming also qualified in the 800 . . . read more

HPC BIG RED STARS

Kaylee Eberle and Luke Danklesen were the Big Red Stars representatives from High Plains Middle School.  On April 30th they went to UNL to be honored as two of the outstanding 8th graders in Nebraska. Big Red Stars is a program that teaches students about being prepared for college and rewards them for being leaders. That Tuesday they got to listen to Governor Dave Heineman make a speech about going to college.
